Content Creator - Workshop Marketing, Photography & Videography

Organisation:

Stitch Kitchen

Category:

Marketing & Communications

Hours:

Evenings/Weekends

Locations:

Dunedin

As the Volunteer Content Creator you will attend and document a selection of beginner sewing workshops—including Sewing for Beginners, Wardrobe Basics, and Overlocking for Beginners—to capture candid, participant-focused moments.

Ideally, one volunteer would be available to capture all three workshops, but this is not essential—we welcome enquiries from those who can only commit to one or two sessions. Multiple volunteers may be recruited to ensure coverage across all classes.

You would observe the class and capture moments through photography and videography that showcase a participant’s point of view, to help attract more people to register for future classes. Photograph and film key moments from the sessions to create engaging visual content for use on Instagram (posts, reels, stories), Stitch Kitchen's website, and other promotional materials. If comfortable, you may also like to casually ask participants a few interview questions to enhance the storytelling. You can use your personal recording device or Stitch Kitchen equipment is provided for you (digital camera and Android phone), whichever you feel most comfortable using.

During the Overlocking for Beginners session, which coincides with public studio hours, there may also be opportunities to document the wider atmosphere, including activity in the fabric store and interactions with the public.

Stitch Kitchen is under the Just Atelier Trust which was founded in 2015 as a shared passion for creating a local solution to a global problem of social and environmental waste throughout the fashion industry.

Anyone with a willingness to learn about different textiles, attention to detail, patience and a positive attitude is very welcome to join their workshops.
