The Wakatipu Toy Library is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing affordable access to a wide range of high-quality toys, puzzles, games, and costumes for families in the Wakatipu region. With a focus on learning through play, sustainability, and community support, the library aims to foster creativity, reduce waste, and offer an inclusive resource for local families. The Toy Library is located in the portacom by the netball courts at the Queenstown Events Centre. They are currently seeking a Social Media & Content Creator. As a Social Media & Content Creator you will: deliver one engaging post per week on Facebook and Instagram, ideally using their own photos. They’ll have access to full Canva (with ready-made templates) and use Meta Business Suite to schedule posts. They’ll also create a simple content calendar that highlights key events like Messy Play Week or NZ Music Month to inspire regular, relevant, and playful content.
This volunteer will focus on showcasing our toys in action, playtime picks and new toys — with full access to borrow from our huge range of over 1,200 toys as part of the role.
They won’t be alone! Support will be provided by our current content lead, who will handle operational posts (such as staff updates, closures, and membership info), allowing the Social Media & Content Creator to focus on playful, engaging content that builds connection and sparks joy.
Ideally you are someone who is: Confident using or open to learning Canva and Meta Business Suite Familiar with Facebook and Instagram Able to take fun, engaging photos Comfortable writing captions or using AI tools like ChatGPT for support Reliable and consistent with weekly posts Creative, playful, and tuned in to what works on social media * Aligned with the Toy Library’s community-focused values
