Secretary

Oamaru Victorian Heritage Celebrations is an annual Otago event that attracts thousands of visitors to the district. The Celebrations hosts and supports more than 100 events across the four days the third week of November each year. This year’s theme is Oamaru Noir, Scoundrels, Secrets and Shadows.
The OVHC Committee coordinates and promotes Heritage Week, and runs some key events, including:

  • Garden Party
  • Grand Street Parade and Photo Opportunity
  • Heritage Bicycle Races
  • Fashion Show
  • Ceilidh

Role of Secretary is responsible for:

  • Meeting minutes
  • Meeting arrangements as needed

Preferred skills and or experience:

  • Minute-taking
  • Time management
  • Document management

Requirements

  • Experience in writing and minute taking
  • Ability to get minutes completed and sent to committee within a week of previous meeting
  • Committee experience a bonus
  • Willingness to learn and enjoys working in a fun and relaxing environment
  • Willing to work on and plan heritage events

Time commitment

Attend meetings (usually monthly, more often as needed). Between meetings committee members work on whatever tasks they have agreed to as part of their role
