The objects of the Society are: (a) To promote the preservation of Victorian architecture and history in Oamaru and the Waitaki District (b) Provide a forum to educate the local and wider community on the historical roots of the region and the importance of the Victoria era in the early development of New Zealand. (c) Provide education on life in New Zealand during the late 19th century by practically demonstrating activities, trades and material from the Victorian era in an annual event.
