Ōtepoti-Dunedin Whānau Refuge is looking for a reliable and practical person to support their kai donation efforts. This role involves sorting and organising food donations received from the community and partners, creating food parcels tailored to whānau needs with care and cultural consideration, and coordinating deliveries to the safe house, the whare, or directly to whānau when required. Volunteers also help maintain cleanliness and order in the storage area and support donation tracking by recording incoming and outgoing kai supplies. 🍞🧺🚗💛
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting whānau in crisis and can work with respect, confidentiality, compassion and a commitment to their kaupapa.

What you will need
💛 A kind heart, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to the kaupapa
📦 Ability to lift light to medium boxes (banana box size)
🚗 Full driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
🫶 Respect for confidentiality — volunteers may become aware of sensitive information and must uphold the privacy, safety, and dignity of all whānau served
🧺 Practical, respectful, and organised approach to handling food and donations
🤝 Cultural awareness and care when preparing parcels for wāhine and tamariki
