Organisation:

Presbyterian Support Otago

Category:

Driving

Hours:

Working Hours

Locations:

Mosgiel

Many older adults in Mosgiel/Taieri are no longer able to drive, yet they still want to enjoy time with others and take part in meaningful activities. The mini bus driver and assistant roles make this possible by helping people get safely to and from Club Enliven.

Club Enliven is for people over 65 years and offers a range of social activities including discussions, guest speakers, singing and music, craft, outings, cooking, and meals. The service is vital in supporting social engagement and providing meaningful activity that is essential to a healthy, happy life, no matter what age. A 14-seater mini bus is used to pick members up each morning and return them home at the end of a satisfying day.

As the Driver, you’ll use the PSO mini bus to collect members from their homes and return them at the end of the day. You’ll ensure a safe, comfortable ride while offering a friendly welcome and reliable service.

As the Assistant, you’ll greet members warmly, help them in and out of the van, and support those who use mobility aids. You’ll also make the short journey more enjoyable by chatting with members and helping them feel at ease.

By driving or assisting on the mini bus, you’re doing more than providing transport, you’re enabling older adults to share laughter, build friendships, and stay active in their community. You’ll be part of a supportive team, enjoy new connections yourself, and know that your time is making a real difference in people’s lives.
