Board Secretary - Championing Youth Wellbeing

The Alexandra and Districts Youth Trust (otherwise known as Puna Rangatahi) is a not-for-profit organisation, founded in 2011, which supports young people in Vincent Ward, Teviot Valley, and Māniatoto Valley. The Trust supports rangatahi (aged 10-24) and their whānau to access resources and information, opportunities, and guidance in many exciting capacities.

The Trust is seeking a Secretary (Trustee) who will provide administrative support to ensure governance systems and practice support the realisation of the purpose stated in the Trust Deed and the mission and values specified in the strategic plan.

You will be supported in the role by the Trust’s Chair and the Puna Rangatahi Manager.

Key tasks of the Secretary include:

  • Organising meetings (locations, agenda, minutes).
  • Maintenance of the Trust’s information on the Charities Services website.
  • Participating in Board activities as a Trustee.

Currently, the role is being shared by others on the Board, so they can all support you as you learn the role.

Your role will be an essential support to keep the operations of the Trust moving forward.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

  • Approximately four hours a month.
