Dream South D Trust is a five-year, community-led development initiative focused on making great things happen in South Dunedin. This October, they are reviving the vibrant Buskers Festival Ōtepoti, transforming the streets into a celebration of music, creativity, and performance. Dream South D are looking for 3 - 4 Stage Decorators to help transform shopfronts and doorways along King Edward Street into 8 unique mini-stages for live music and performance. Help play a role in creating the atmosphere that makes this event memorable. The festival is on 18 October 2025 🌈🎭🎉
As a Stage Decorator you will:
- Create chalk art stage designs on sidewalks for buskers to perform on
- Add colour and creativity to shopfronts and doorways along King Edward Street
- Work as part of a small, friendly team to complete all 8 mini-stages by 10:30 am
- Bring your creative energy to help shape a vibrant community event
On the day you will:
- Arrive at 8:30 am for a health & safety induction at 183 King Edward Street
- Use provided materials to complete your stage designs
- Take breaks as needed and enjoy food provided throughout the day
- Option to join the post-event prize-giving at The Gasworks Museum
Training:
- Full induction and materials provided on the day
- Support available from event organisers and fellow team members

Requirements
This role would suit someone who:
- Aged 16 years or older.
- Has a strong artistic flair, ideally with chalk or sidewalk art
- Can manage time well and meet a clear deadline!
- Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- A love for live music and performance a bonus.
- Reliable and keen to see a project through
