Craigs Aspiring Art Prize Artwork Packer

Aspiring Art Prize is the primary fundraiser for Holy Family Catholic School, raising over $30,000 for arts education. Proudly sponsored by Craigs Investment Partners, this annual event attracts 150 artists from across New Zealand, fostering and encouraging their talents while establishing itself as a nationally recognised art award.

They are looking for conscientious, detail-oriented helpers to join the Aspiring Art Prize packing crew to carefully re-package artworks after the exhibition so they can be returned to artists and buyers in perfect condition. Great for practical, methodical volunteers who enjoy helping out behind the scenes. Flexible timing available, and nibbles provided!

If you enjoy art, prefer engaging with people in smaller groups, and are good with your hands, this short-term role is a rewarding way to meet new people while supporting one of New Zealand’s premier art events.

As an added bonus, you'll receive complimentary admission for two to view the artwork in situ during the public exhibition from the 10th – 12th January, 2026.

Requirements

• Detail-focused and careful – able to follow simple packing procedures and handle artwork gently and confidently.
• Practical and hands-on – comfortable with tasks like wrapping, taping, lifting lightweight items, and organising supplies.
• Team-oriented – enjoys working alongside a small, friendly group and communicating clearly.
• Reliable and punctual – arrives on time and sees tasks through to completion.
• Calm and patient – happy to work at a steady, consistent pace to ensure every piece is packaged correctly.
• Respectful of artwork – understands the importance of protecting high-value or fragile pieces.
• Physically able – capable of light lifting, bending, and standing for short periods.
• Minimum age: 18 (due to handling of valuable artwork)
