New Zealand Red Cross Dunedin Branch will be attending the South Dunedin Street Festival on Saturday 14 March, and they are looking for friendly volunteers to support their community stall.

On the day, volunteers will help with:

  • Running a sausage sizzle
  • Promoting the Good & Ready emergency preparedness programme
  • Engaging festival attendees with a spinning wheel and Red Cross questions
  • Event set-up and pack-down

This is a great opportunity to connect with the community, gain event experience, and support emergency preparedness awareness in Dunedin.

No prior experience is required. Good & Ready training will be provided.

Requirements

  • Friendly and comfortable engaging with members of the public
  • Happy to work as part of a small team
  • Minimum age: 18
  • No previous Red Cross experience required.

Time commitment

Volunteers can support:

  • Set-up (before 10am)
  • One or more 2-hour shifts during the event
  • Pack-down (after 3pm)

Flexible – you are welcome to volunteer for one shift or multiple shifts.
