Alexandra Community Advice Network
"Helping People to Help Themselves". Alexandra Community Advice Network (ACAN) provide a free, confidential referral information and advice service at Alexandra Community House. ACAN also provide a Volunteer Driver Service, Meals-on-Wheels driver coordination, free legal appointments, Justice of Peace clinics, and a local community directory.
Roles Available:
Volunteer Driver
Make a difference for Alexandra and Clyde residents who are unable to drive and need help to get to their health appointments, the shops, bank, library and community events.
Community Advice Volunteer
ACAN trains volunteers to give advice and local information to people in the Alexandra community. The organisation aims to ensure that individuals do not suffer through ignorance of their rights and responsibilities or of services available to them.
Meals on Wheels Driver
Volunteers are needed to join the Meals on Wheels team in Alexandra and surrounds to provide a mid-day meal for those persons (because of age, illness or disability) who need it.
