Wakatipu Toy Library Incorporated
The Wakatipu Toy Library is a community-focused, non-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring learning through play by providing affordable access to high-quality toys, promoting sustainable practices, and encouraging a culture of sharing within our community. With over 1,200 items, including toys, puzzles, games, outdoor equipment, and costumes, they offer something for tamariki from 6 months. Families can borrow items on a membership basis, encouraging variety, reducing waste, and fostering creativity. The library is run by a small team, including a paid part-time librarian and a dedicated volunteer committee. They also receive valuable support from their helping members, who contribute their time in exchange for a reduced membership rate. This collaborative effort ensures our service remains accessible and sustainable.
