Otago Southland Theatre Awards
The Otago Southland Theatre Awards (OSTAs) have been established to recognise performance and production excellence amongst Musical Theatre New Zealand (MTNZ) member societies in Zone 5. These awards are held annually and recognise excellence in theatre across Otago and Southland. Their goal is to advance community based performing arts primarily within the Otago/Southland Region with the aim to assist and encourage performers to acquire and develop further skills, knowledge and expertise in performance.They also ensure continued opportunities for the public display of performing arts by non-profit organisations, for the education, cultural enlightenment and capacity building of members of the community.
