Native Plant Maintenance

The Whakatipu Reforestation Trust's mission is to restore the native biodiveristy of the Whakatipu Basin through revegetation projects, education, collaboration & advocacy. Since 2015, WRT volunteers have grown and planted over 135,000 native trees and shrubs around the Whakatipu Basin.

  • They welcome volunteers to help with native plant maintenance at any of their sites. There are a number of options and they can arrange something in the most convenient location to you.

  • Duties can include either light hand release of plants and fixing up plant protectors through to using a variety of tools if you have capability.
