South Alive (South Invercargill Urban Rejuvenation Charitable Trust)
South Alive's mission statement is: Empowered by our strengths as a community, we will build a place to live and work that engenders pride and inspires us.
South Alive is a community led development organisation which is focused on the revitalisation of South Invercargill. They run a number of projects and events and have specific action teams with volunteers working on "beautification, fruit and nut orchards, housing and events".
Events include an annual Trolley Derby and Children's Day, Street Party, and World Kindness Day.
Volunteers are needed to help in a range of roles including:
The list is endless! If you have time and enthusiasm to support your community then please get in touch - there will be a role for you!
They are looking for people keen to be part of our vision to make South Invercargill a place we can be proud to live and work in. You should be reliable, trustworthy and have a can do attitude!
Specific skills relevant to events such as event organisation experience, photography, marketing/promo, would be great but is not essential.
They are happy to have people who just want to get stuck in and help!
Helpers at events can be required anywhere from 2 - 6 hours (with breaks provided) depending on the event.
Often they need the most help at the start and the end of the event to set up and pack down, so you can often enjoy most of the event while it is happening too!
Volunteers are also often invited to attend a volunteer briefing a few days prior to events as part of the induction and welcoming process.
They usually look for volunteers about 1 month prior to an event, and provide further details of time commitments and responsibilities at that time.
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
