Central Motor Speedway host an exciting racing season from September to April. They need volunteers to ensure these events run smoothly and are enjoyable for the community who get together to share a passion for this sport! Whether you're a long-time racing enthusiast or newly interested in the sport- volunteering during an event is a great way to be involved in the action.

Opportunities available as follows:
Public Gate Attendant:

  • Welcome spectators
  • Issue tickets
  • Direct spectators to seating

Infield volunteers are right in the centre of the track, and are on hand to help with various tasks:

  • help with the track gate
  • assist the crash crew
  • assist the push truck

Whether you are interested in one or both of the above roles, you will be:

  • given full training
  • working under the supervision of experienced staff and volunteers
  • well taken care of, with refreshments provided during your shift
  • enjoy free entry and be at the centre of all the action

Requirements

Ideally you are someone who is:

  • able to follow directions in a fast-paced environment
  • willing to learn
  • flexible and happy to help where needed
  • honest and respectful
  • reliable and punctual
  • able to accurately handle money
  • excited about working in a busy event atmosphere
  • a good team player with a sense of humour

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment

Racing season is from September to April. On race days, you will need to be there from about 2pm to prep before the spectators arrive, and stay until the event is finished in the evening.
