Insight Endometriosis believes that everyone deserves access to accurate information and support when dealing with endometriosis. They empower the endometriosis community by providing information, education, and support, as well as raising awareness to reduce diagnostic delays. They believe that, through information, support, and awareness, people with endometriosis can be empowered to make decisions for themselves regarding their health and journey.

As the Expo Ambassador Team Leader you will be:

  • Ensuring Insight Endometriosis has Expo Ambassadors at expos for positive engagement
    (6 Expos nationwide last year - number can vary year to year)
  • Overseeing around 20 Expo Ambassadors, number can change monthly due to recruitment
  • Responsible for ensuring that Expo Ambassadors are well-trained to perform their role
    (as organisation representatives, engaging competently and confidently with the public)
  • Contacting Expo Ambassador volunteers to fill a roster for each expo
  • Providing Expo Ambassador volunteers with the information needed about expos
  • Ensuring that the Insight Endometriosis Manager/Educator has the roster details
  • Supporting Expo Ambassador volunteers as a liaison during expos
    (if any issues arise that need to be dealt with immediately)
  • Maintaining a record of trainings, ensuring that Expo Ambassadors complete all training and refresher at least once every three years

Training provided:

  • You will be provided with full training/induction around Insight Endometriosis' operations/mission
  • Their Manager/Educator provides the training to the Team Leader and this would initially be 2-3 hours and then any additional training as required

Requirements

  • The ideal person will have experience in staff/volunteer supervision, leading a team & managing rosters
  • Pro-active with good organisational and time-management skills
  • Honest and reliable
  • Able to maintain accurate, legible and timely records
  • Access to email, text, phone and internet
  • Ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain good relationships
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • The ability to ensure and maintain confidentiality
  • Desire to see people empowered to navigate their endometriosis journey
  • Desire to see people make informed health decisions

Time commitment

  • Minimum 12 month volunteer commitment preferred
  • Dependent on when there are expos
    (ensuring contact with volunteers to organise their training and expo rosters)
  • Expected Time per month can vary depending on whether there is an expo to organise volunteers for
    (or how many expos there are and how quickly volunteers can be contacted which may increase time)
