Insight Endometriosis is a charity that supports people in New Zealand to make their own decisions about the treatment and management of their endometriosis. Each person's experience of endometriosis is different and Insight Endometriosis provides information guides provide evidence-based information, as well as helpful tips from those that have lived experience of endometriosis.

They are currently using Canva to translate resources into other languages. They have volunteers who proofread these translations, ensuring the translation is accurate. As the Translations Team Leader you would support this work by:

  • overseeing this team of translation volunteers
  • assigning projects as required
  • supporting the volunteers in using Canva to make any necessary edits
  • working with the volunteers to resolve any cultural sensitivity issues around language used
  • keeping volunteers up to date with Insight Endometriosis' translation project goals
  • communicating timeframes of when proofreading services will be required again.

Your support will make it possible for endometriosis information and resources to be available to the growingly diverse population of Aotearoa NZ. Enjoy the satisfaction of making a huge difference across the country, while being able to volunteer from your home!

Requirements

Ideally, you are someone with:

  • Experience with staff or volunteer supervision, leading a team or overseeing project teams
  • The ability to work to set deadlines
  • your own computer/laptop, and internet, phone and text capability
  • The ability to learn how to use our online work management system
  • Experience using Canva
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain good relationships
  • Good time management
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Pleasant telephone manner, positive text and email etiquette
  • An honest and reliable character, with respect for confidentiality
  • The ability to maintain accurate, legible and timely records

Time commitment

Approximately 30-60 minutes a week to maintain contact with volunteers, support and coordinate their project work. The role is remote with time and activities managed within your flexibility.
