Support and Mentor New Volunteer Coaches - Home Based

As a Volunteer Supporter or Mentor, you will be a friendly point of contact for new volunteer literacy coaches as they complete their training.

In this role, you will:

  • Make regular phone check-ins (call costs are covered).
  • Build supportive, positive relationships.
  • Provide a space for volunteers to ask questions and share their progress.

Requirements

  • Someone who enjoys talking to and connecting with people
  • Warm, encouraging, and reliable
  • Comfortable saying “I’m not sure, I’ll find out”
  • Willing to complete the training

Time commitment

  • Flexible and ongoing
  • Typically supporting 2 to 3 new volunteer coaches at a time
  • Up to a maximum of 4 to 5 hours a week
