Mōkihi Trust

Mōkihi Reforestation Trust was formed in 2015. The group was an initiative of Te Kakano - an established native plant nursery and restoration group based in Wanaka. Part of Te Kakano's vision is to sow the seed of enhancing native restoration through other communities on the Clutha River. Local Cromwell people stepped up to form their own group and Mokihi trust was born. Their mission statement is: To engage, motivate and educate the community in sustainable ecological restoration so as to enhance and restore Cromwell's indigenous ecosystem for now and future generations.
